While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and American Dental Association called for postponement of elective procedures during the first wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic, dentists are understandably eager to once again open their practices. While community spread of this Coronavirus may still be prevalent during the re-opening phase, it is paramount that dentists consider the safety of dental staff and their patients during dental care. This webinar will address basic infection control principles such as Standard and Transmission based precautions, and interim guidance from CDC and ADA to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 in the dental setting.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss up-to-date global status of COVID-19. Identify Standard Precautions and Transmission-based Precautions in the dental setting.
  • List personal protective equipment recommendations for treatment of potentiallyinfectious persons.
  • List steps that dental personnel can take to prepare for office re-opening.
