Aquasil Ultra Plus Portfolio Overview with techniques

Why choose Aquasil Ultra+?

Highest Intraoral and 24hrs tear strengths

Higher accuracy due to reduced risk of tears by mouth removal on critical margins and thin cross-sections. Less risk for crown adjustment or "retakes". Helps ensure multiple pours at the lab with no compromise to model accuracy.

High intraoral and 24hrs hydrophilicity

Helps ensure accurate impression in the presence of moisture. Can be applied to moist preparation, avoiding dessicating the prep and reducing risk of post-op sensitivity. Helps ensure model accuracy and margin fit when poured at the lab.

Broad portfolio

Large variety of consistencies and delivery forms for all impressions needs in all techniques. Special Rigid material is designed for preventing distortion common with double-arch trays.

Long intraoral work time and short Mouth Removal Time

Plenty of intraoral time (IOT) for the clinical work. Reduced waiting time until material is set and removed. More IOT: More time and convenience for the dentists during material application, less risk for distortion. Short MRT: minimizes time for unwanted jaws movements, lesss wasted wait time for the dentist.

NCIS - New Cartridge Integrated System image

NCIS - New Cartridge Integrated System

  • Same great material
  • Less waste
  • Improved mixing
  • Easy to use

Due to customer feedback on the material waste in our mixing tips as well as setting issues when customer used low cost mixing tips, Dentsply Sirona introduced a new innovative cartridge and mixing tip delivery system for all Dentsply Sirona conventional impression materials (NCIS = New Cartridge Integrated System). The NCIS consists of new 50ml and 380ml DECA cartridges as well as new mixing and intraoral tips.

This primary packaging change results in several benefits for the end user:

  • Less waste of impression material
  • More applications per cartridge
  • Improved mix quality
  • New level of simplicity
  • System is cross-compatible with existing 50mL/ 380mL dispensers/ mixing machines

Note: By introducing NCIS, the new innovative mixing tips are only compatible with the new cartridge system.

Improved design of 50ml Cartridge & Mixing Tip

Designed to improve overall customer experience while optimizing performance.

  • Mixing cube for improved mix quality
  • Prevents cross contamination due to alignment key
  • Bleed only once for the life of the cartridge (50ml)1
  • Up to 64% less waste2

1. Only with the 50mL System

2. When comparing Dentsply Sirona low viscosity impression material in the new red mixing tip versus the old teal mixing tip.

Static Mixing Tips Benefit Overview

Benefits of the 50ml cartridge and the corresponding mixing tips

Cartridge Cap Features

The cartridge cap is pre-assembled with a tamper-evident seal and a color-code plate. The plate stays on the cartridge after the opening. An alignment pin prevents material contamination when closing the cartridge after use.

Stonehenge Mixing Chamber Technology

Improved mix quality and a more homogeneous mix.

Ensures proper mix from start to finish.

Homogeneously mixed material in a mixing tip.

Improved design of DECA Cartridge & Mixing Tip

The DECA 5:1 cartridges improved in following aspects:

  • Simple assembly system
  • NO bayonet ring necessary

77% more applications per cartridge

~ 13 applications per cartridge

Hydrophilicity where it counts, intraorally

Hydrophilicity, or contact angle, is most important when the material is being dispensed intraorally. Aquasil Ultra+ impression material delivers industry-leading intraoral hydrophilicity. Our extremely low contact angle—while the impression material is uncured—helps ensure an accurate impression in the presence of natural hydration, so over desiccation of the tooth prep isn’t necessary.

Leading Intraoral Hydrophilicity
The material is designed to avoid trapping fluid from the moment it is syringed in a moist, humid environment, helping alleviate voids and bubbles at or near the margin.

Leading Cured-Fil Hydrophilicity
The material continues to work well with moisture after it leaves your office, delivering accuracy at the lab to deliver properly fitting final restorations.

Intraoral Tear Strength with Poly-Stronger Bonds

Tears and voids at the margin are the most common errors in impressions. Aquasil Ultra+ impression material reduces the risk of tears when you need it most — at the thinnest thicknesses while removing it from the mouth. Our advanced formula accommodates a wider set of cases, including those using retraction paste and other techniques where minimal retraction occurs.

Leading Intraoral Teal Strength

Patented technology delivers polyfunctional bonds, for the highest intraoral tear strength on the market. This ensures margins stay intact and material is not left in the sulcus.

Leading Teal Strength at 24 Hours

Labs also need your impression to remain intact. Aquasil Ultra+ material is designed to remain strong after it leaves your office, further ensuring better model and final impression accuracy.

Why is it stronger?

Tear-Strength Bifunctional Graphic

Impression materials that rely on polyether, traditional a-silicone, and c-silicone chemistries rely on linear bonds. This limits their ability to produce high tear strength.

Tear-Strength Polyfunctional Graphic

Our patented chemistry ensures chemical connections occur through polyfunctional bonds, or branching. This allows the material to be strong even at the thinnest cross-sections.

Ideal Work and Set Times

Delivery of your impression material is critically important to the success of your final impression. Aquasil Ultra+ impression material’s patented digit Targeted Delivery System and single-use cartridges get you up to 34% closer to the prepared tooth and put precision placement at your fingertips.

Exceeding the work time of your impression material can lead to distortion, drags, and pulls. Aquasil Ultra+ impression material provides long, clearly labeled intraoral work times so you don’t need to guess how much time you have while working on your patients.

  • Single unit: Fast Set allows for speed without sacrificing working time
  • Multi unit: Regular Set allows for additional time in more complicated cases.
