IC Level 2 - Posterior Single-Tooth Implants Part II: Guided Surgery

This procedure-based course will illustrate the basic surgical and prosthetic concepts of implant therapy through the presentation of a single-tooth posterior implant case. This case demonstrates the replacement of missing tooth #19, which was lost due to root fracture. We will discuss the role of comprehensive treatment planning and the predictability that guided surgery brings.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of Level 2, learners should be able to:

  • Recognize a streamlined digital implant workflow for single-tooth replacements
  • Understand the importance of surgical guides for correct positioning
  • Identify the advantages of custom healing abutments and how they relate to the final restoration

Following completion of Part 1 and Part 2 of this Level 2 curriculum focused on single-tooth implants in the posterior, participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 3, focused on the single-tooth implant in the anterior zone.
