Perfect hygiene in the practice is the prerequisite for all successful dental treatments. At the 19th World Sterilization Congress from October 31 to November 3, 2018 in Mexico City, Dentsply Sirona will be presenting coordinated products that simplify hygiene processes. As the world's largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies, the company supports dentists and clinics with integrated solutions to enable safer and better patient treatment in almost all countries around the world.

The very latest technological developments for reprocessing medical devices will be on show at the 19th World Sterilization Congress. An international team of experts from Dentsply Sirona will be presenting proven and innovative solutions for all areas of infection prevention in dental practices and clinics at booths 21 and 22, and will also be on hand to offer advice on hygiene management issues.

"It is our goal to make demanding hygiene processes as easy as possible and indeed also automate them wherever possible," explained Jan Siefert, Group Vice President Instruments at Dentsply Sirona. "To this end, we provide coordinated products for all areas of hygiene and infection prevention which, in turn, enable safe and efficient dentistry."

Unlike almost any other company, Dentsply Sirona is able to deliver integrated solutions – from mouth protection and the regular and thorough disinfection of hands and surfaces to patients through proper instrument reprocessing with the fully automated combination autoclave DAC Universal, including the packaging and storage of instruments.

Safety for both the patient and the treatment team

"Professional hygiene management reduces the risk of infection and contamination," explained Kathrin Sichler, Marketing Manager Instruments at Dentsply Sirona. "As such, the treatment team and patients both benefit from improved safety. In day-to-day practice life, it is vital that all hygiene measures are reproducible and are easy and safe to implement." Dentsply Sirona offers intelligent solutions for every step of the process. For example, the Com-Fit Plush mask protects the mouth and nose from liquid splashes, amongst other things, during treatment. The smooth surfaces of the Dentsply Sirona treatment centers are easy to disinfect following treatment. Moreover, their hygiene-critical elements, including handles, trays and silicone pads, can be removed and reprocessed mechanically.

DAC Universal: The safe and fully automated way to reprocess instruments

Practice hygiene is growing in importance and the implementation of hygiene measures in practices is increasingly being monitored by supervisory authorities. The reprocessing of dental instruments must satisfy high standards: In particular, rotating instruments with their narrow media channels and angled interiors are classed as particularly difficult to reprocess. Here, mechanical cleaning and disinfection processes take preference over manual reprocessing. It must be ensured that the reprocessing methods can be validated, such as the reprocessing methods using the combination autoclave DAC Universal from Dentsply Sirona. In a mechanical process, the DAC Universal cleans, lubricates and sterilizes all transmission instruments used for dental treatments in a manner that is gentle on the material since no cleaning and disinfectant agents are used. What's more, instruments such as ultrasonic tips and handpieces, as well as the nozzles of multifunctional syringes and powder jet devices can also be hygienically reprocessed to perfection with the DAC Universal.

Visitors to the World Sterilization Congress 2018 can experience for themselves these solutions for infection prevention in dental practices from Dentsply Sirona at booths 21 and 22 at the event in Mexico City.
