With the Orthophos SL, your practice is extremely well prepared for various treatment situations. On the 2D side, the groundbreaking DCS sensor and SL technology satisfy the requirements of practitioners with very high demands for panoramic imaging. In 3D, you can decide (now or later) between the 8 cm x 8 cm or 11 cm x 10 cm volume unit. Both units offer a variety of collimations.
In combination with the pioneering Sidexis 4 imaging software, the Orthophos SL gives you access to a variety of innovative treatment solutions. Orthophos SL 3D can be equipped at any time with a cephalometric arm.
Patients appreciate the soothing Ambient Light, which offers a choice of over 30 colors for a pleasant atmosphere in your X-ray room that fits perfectly into the look of your practice.
What makes the Orthophos SL special?
More possibilities for your practice without compromises.
Revolutionary 2D DCS images for efficient diagnosis
Thanks to the DCS (Direct Conversion Sensor) technology which skips light conversion and therefore mantains more image information, you benefit from unparallely sharp images.
All teeth automatically in the sharp layer
The sharp layer technology automatically adapts the panoramic curve to the patient‘s individual anatomical features, ensuring that the entire jaw is always in the sharp layer.
Variety of volumes for more treatment options
A selectable field of view starting at a focused 5 cm x 5.5 cm volume and going up to 11 cm x 10 cm for upper airway analysis allows for a broader practice offering.
Automatic positioning aids optimize your practice workflow
The new EasyPad, patented occlusal bite block, Easy Volume Indicator lights and 3-Point Head Fixation: never has it been easier to perfectly position patients quickly and efficiently.
It is not only because of my interest in technology that I find the combination of direct conversion technology and the reconstructive sharp layer procedure in the Orthophos SL to be truly exciting. The resulting precise images work perfectly for interpretation. In combination with the volume selection in 3D, we have a universally applicable diagnostic partner for our practice.
Even though 3D X-rays are increasingly becoming established in a growing number of dental practices, in many cases 2D imaging still has a rightful place, to a great extent due to radiation hygiene. It is a core component of modern dental diagnostics. In terms of improvements in image quality, the options available in 2D technology are far from exhausted. The Orthophos SL has revolutionized 2D imaging with the introduction of the Direct Conversion Sensor, Sharp Layer technology and interactive SL. Experience panoramic images like never before.

3D imaging: the future of imaging today
3D technology is becoming increasingly well established in dental practices around the world. For more precise diagnoses and explanations of treatment, 3D X-rays offer a number of advantages. Whether for superimposed teeth, unexpected nerve canal paths, hidden roots, or temporomandibular joint anomalies, 3D images are of inestimable value for a large number of diagnoses.
The Orthophos SL 3D offers a great variety of options to match these needs: different volume sizes to choose from, HD/SD/Low Dose modes and a smart and intuitive Software to make the most out of the taken images and link directly into treatment.

Orthophos SL 3D in the practice
Orthophos SL 3D offers the capability to install a cephalometric arm at any time. And to be sure it fits in your x-ray room, the arm can be mounted either on the right side or left side of the unit.
Ceph programs that cover all orthodontic needs
Using a dedicated sensor, you get lateral and symmetrical p.a. or a.p. as well as carpus images. In cases of displaced teeth, you can also fall back on the benefits of 3D x-rays to determine their exact location.
