Be safe. See more - with improved focus
The Sharp Layer (SL) technology
The Sharp Layer technology produces X-ray images in which the entire jaw is automatically shown in the sharp layer, taking the patient's individual anatomical features into account. For a panoramic image, the Sharp Layer technology uses several thousand individual projections that are taken very rapidly from several angles in one rotation and reproduce the individual morphological situation very precisely.
The advantages: Excellent panoramic images and the possibility of compensating for positioning errors retroactively. The automatic Sharp Layer technology adapts the sharp layer intelligently and automatically, eliminates the necessity for the advance selection of jaw morphology and front tooth position, and thus simplifies the operation of the X-ray device. In addition, the interactive Sharp Layer technology makes it possible to shift the depth of focus retroactively in bucco-lingual direction, so that it can be detected immediately which structure is in front and which is behind in case of unclear superimposition.

It is not only because of my interest in technology that I find the combination of direct conversion technology and the reconstructive Sharp Layer process in the Orthophos SL to be truly exciting. The resulting precise images are ideal for making a diagnosis.
