CEREC Tessera Advanced Lithium Disilicate

The CAD CAM block providing a trifecta of performance with speed, strength, and esthetics.

Single-visit indirect restorations CEREC blocks should seamlessly integrate into your workflow. Trade-offs shouldn't be part of the consideration process. With state-of-the-art technology, you don't need to compromise. Esthetics and strength. Strength and speed. Esthetics and speed. All combinations come standard to help you deliver state-of-the-art restorations.

CEREC Tessera - Advanced Lithium Disilicate is one material ready to be integrated into your digital workflow as your go-to glass ceramic block or in combination with CEREC MTL Zirconia for a complete CEREC block offering.

Why choose CEREC Tessera?

Unparalleled Strength

Up to 32% stronger than the competition with biaxial strength measured at more than 700 MPa.

Tooth-like esthetics

The dual crystal stucture is designed to interact with the visible light spectrum for ideal translucence, flourescence and opalescence.

Faster total processing time

Clinicians can save up to 44% of total processing time (grinding and firing) without compromising on the full range of esthetic options.

Broad Case Indications

Indicated for use for single-unit full contour crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers.

Margins milled beautifully. The shade worked out nicely for this case! No adjustments were needed.

Shivi Gupta, DDS

An innovative material

CEREC Tessera blocks achieve exceptional three-way performance through a unique chemistry that incorporates two complementary crystal structures within a glassy zirconia matrix. These two crystals work together to create an unprecedented fusion of strength and beauty in one block while significantly improving overall processing time.

Lithium disilicate

Rod-shaped crystals provide strength in the same manner as rebar embedded in cement. These crystals increase the density of the material while helping protect against crack propagation.

Virgilite

Used in glass ceramics, these crystals are unique to CEREC Tessera material. They are activated through the matrix firing process and add strength while contributing to the outstanding esthetics that give the convincing appearance of natural teeth.

Performance Where it Counts Most

The Strong CEREC Block

#1 Strength is the number-one feature clinicians look for in a CAD/CAM block.1

  • CEREC Tessera blocks are the strongest glass ceramic blocks currently offered anywhere in the market—up to 32% stronger than the competition,1 with biaxial strength measured at more than 700 MPa.
  • This strength allows for a conservative preparation design, with reduced risk of margin chipping.
  • The unique combination of crystal structures and glass adds further assurance due to surface healing while firing.
  • What do these strength properties mean for your restorations?
  • You can use CEREC Tessera blocks with confidence for full-coverage crowns, inlays/onlays, and veneers. And you can count on the material’s strength even at wall thicknesses down to 1.0 mm, giving you greater flexibility in your  restoration designs.

The Esthetic CEREC Block

#2 The second feature clinicians look for in a CAD/CAM block is esthetics.1

  • Along with market-defining strength, CEREC Tessera blocks also deliver the tooth-like esthetics of glass ceramics—an essential quality for highly visible restorations.
  • It’s the one choice for restorations anywhere in the mouth.
  • Shade-match with confidence. CEREC Tessera blocks simplify shade selection, with true shade blocks that match the final restoration—no specialized selection tools or guesswork required.
  • And the dual crystal structure of CEREC Tessera ALD is designed to interact with the visible light spectrum for ideal translucence, fluorescence, and opalescence.
  • The result is a dynamic esthetic that relies on the properties of light refraction, transmission, and absorption—making CEREC Tessera blocks the ideal choice for even the most highly visible esthetic restorations.

The Fast CEREC block

CEREC Tessera blocks deliver faster total processing times, redefining the possibilities of single-visit dentistry.

  • These ALD blocks arrive already partially crystallized, allowing for fast, accurate shade selection.
  • They also enable faster firing—requiring only 4.5 minutes in a CEREC SpeedFire furnace, even with stains.
  • Clinicians can save up to 44% of total processing time (grinding + firing) without compromising on the full range of esthetic options.
  • With simple processing and fast cooling, CEREC Tessera blocks deliver at every step to complement any workflow preference.

Super-Fast Processing

CEREC Tessera blocks enable unprecedented processing speed for greater patient satisfaction and a more productive practice.
1.
Simplify shade selection with tooth-colored blocks.
2.
Design restoration using guidelines.
3.
Grind restoration using your preferred CEREC milling machine.
4.
Apply stain (optional) and glaze (spray or paste). Increase speed by blocking intaglio surface with moldable silicone.
5.
Fire in preheated furnace: 4'30" in a CEREC SpeedFire. 9'35"–12'35" in a conventional furnace.
6.
Cement with Calibra

The firing time is a game changer with this material.

Recommendations for CEREC Tessera restorations with Dentsply Sirona Calibra cements.

The answer to which cement is correct for a certain situation depends largely on the type of restoration and its wall thickness.

  • Fundamentally all types of CEREC Tessera glass ceramic restoration can be cemented fully adhesively.
  • Inlays, onlays and partial crowns have to be cemented fully adhesively, that is using Prime&Bond and Calibra Ceram.
  • Veneers have to be cemented fully adhesively, that is using Prime&Bond and Calibra Veneer.
  • Anterior and posterior crowns with a wall thickness of approximately 1.5 millimeters or more may also be cemented with a glass ionomer technology based cement, such as Calibra Bio or Calibra Universal.

Inlays, onlays and partial crown restorations with a wall-thickness < 1.5 mm
