Symbios® Bone Graft Material

The long-term success of dental implants hinges on a sufficient volume of healthy bone. Clinical situations can exist to create a challenge for a patient being a good implant candidate. Some of these are the presence of periodontal disease, large post-extraction bony defects, resorption of an edentulous ridge, certain esthetic sites, bone graft material can help create new bone or remodel existing bone in these and other challenging areas. Clinicians and patients benefit from the line of xenograft, allograft, and synthetic bone graft material included in the Symbios product line. Each product is designed to deliver the bone regenerative results you want to achieve.

  • Allograft bone graft material - Symbios allograft solutions come in different tissue forms, including mineralized and demineralized particulates and a ready-to-use demineralized bone putty with a high 93% by volume bone content
  • Xenograft bone graft material - the osteoconductive hydroxylapatite in xenograft bone regeneration material – a kind of substitute hydroxylapatite of natural bone – is derived from non-human donors. Xenograft bone graft serves as a framework upon which bone from the surrounding area can grow to fill the defect
  • Synthetic bone graft material - Symbios synthetic bone products are 100% pure synthetic hydroxylapatite in two different densities that can be successfully used in dental applications where maintenance of bulk and contour of the restoration and the ridge is needed.
  • Phycogenic bone graft material - the algae-derived products are very similar to the human bone. All algae-derived (phycogenic) materials demonstrate a high specific porosity up to 1.1 cm3/g. Their unique honeycomb like structure with an interconnected porous channel system and their specific chemistry is decisive for the high in-vivo bioactivity of the phycogenic materials

GBR/GTR membranes

For bone and soft tissue generation, Symbios offers a comprehensive portfolio for whatever challenges you face in periodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry. Barrier membranes are a part of the portfolio used in guided bone regeneration. GBR membranes, as well as GTR membranes, augment implant success by promoting bone and periodontal ligament growth while hindering fibrous tissue formation. As an exception, Symbios PerioDerm Acellular Dermis is used to treat facial recession defects.

  • Symbios OsteoShield Collagen Resorbable Membrane - this resorbable membrane is a tissue matrix made from Type-1 bovine collagen. This collagen membrane delivers predictable bone graft in dental surgery procedures, filling bony defects, ridge construction, and dental implant placement The membrane has a multi-layer construction that helps prevent soft tissue infiltration and promotes bone healing and prevents bacterial growth. For ease of use, either side of the membrane may face the defect site
  • Symbios Pre-Hydrated Collagen Dental Membrane - this membrane is comprised of purified whole collagen tissue sourced from bovine pericardium. Immediate use is possible due to its distinctive pre-hydrated delivery feature. Symbios Collagen Membrane Pre-hydrated is malleable and shapes with minimal effort to the defect

A dental membrane is used to stabilize and contain the defect by preventing gingival tissues from infiltrating the site. As an exception, Symbios PerioDerm Acellular Dermis is used to treat facial recession defects.

The Symbios resorbable dental membranes help provide a framework for cellular ingrowth and vascularization, guide bone healing, and prevent cellular and bacterial infiltration. Resorbable membranes are designed to be absorbed, eliminating the need for surgical removal.

Dental Bone Graft Instruments & Accessories

Symbios offers a selection of instruments to support your bone regeneration processes. Included are solutions for harvesting your patients own bone (autologous bone graft material) and preparing bone blocks and access windows.

Efficiency is one key in providing a quick and atraumatic patient experience, and reducing the risk of adverse events. The Symbios instrument portfolio has been developed to increase the success of your bone grafting and regeneration procedures.
