ProTaper Gold rotary files feature the same exact geometries as ProTaper® Universal but offer an increase in flexibility. This is especially important in the finishing files, when navigating challenging curves in the apical region.
The ProTaper Gold technology includes a series of “Shaping” and “Finishing” files that create the reliable ProTaper® shapes and system-matching obturation solutions.
Begin with ProGlider files to create a glide path.
Use ProTaper Gold shaping files with a brushing motion to pre-enlarge the canals.
Complete the canal shaping with ProTaper Gold finishing files.
Seal the canal using AH Plus® endodontic Sealer and ProTaper Gold Conform Fit gutta-percha or Thermafil obturators for ProTaper Gold.
The main difference is their file type. ProTaper Gold is a rotary file system based on a multiple file sequence and WaveOne Gold is a reciprocating file system based on a single file sequence.
ProTaper Gold has a shorter handle length than previous ProTaper files, namely 11 mm.
Working lengths for S1-F5 are available in 21 mm, 25 mm, 31 mm.
Working length for SX is 19 mm.
