The use of LED curing lights has become as ubiquitous to our practices as the dental handpiece. We rely on them for a multitude of preventive and restorative tasks every day. Yet, their efficacy can be taken for granted as we simply “turn on the light”. The consequences of inadequate light curing can lead to catastrophic results including post-operative sensitivity and recurrent decay. This makes the selection of a curing light, monitor its function and pair it with the specific materials we use vitally important to clinical success.
