This course covers more advanced aspects of orthodontic diagnostics, assessment and treatment planning in respect to clear aligner techniques.

The cases demonstrated will highlight the possibilities of orthodontic aligners and will run through the stages from case evaluation to fitting and then retention. This is so attendees will be able to handle moderate to more complex clear aligner cases immediately with the additional use of orthodontic auxiliaries and varied orthodontic mechanics.

The main patient benefit of aligner therapy is the discrete nature and minimal impact on daily life and this course is designed to open up more opportunities to address various presenting malocclusion with comprehensive aligner therapy.

Aligners can also offer various additional opportunities to be creative with orthodontic treatment utilising auxiliary appliances and attachments to the teeth by modifying the trim height of the aligner to allow varying vectors of force application for controlled tooth movements. Aligners are also a very accurate way of fine tuning the finishing of an orthodontic treatment if used as part of a ‘hybrid treatment’ and can be used for high level occlusal control.
