How to: Class IV restoration using Spectra® ST¹ and Enhance Flex instruments

Step 1: Establish clinical starting point

Begin the Class IV restoration by preparing the affected tooth. Ensure proper isolation and a clean working field.

Step 2: Build up the palatal shell

Use Spectra ST A2 Cloud Shade and D1 Opaque Dentin to build the palatal shell.

Carefully sculpt the materials to form the base structure of the restoration.

Step 3: Apply the vestibular layer

Layer Spectra ST A2 Cloud Shade on the vestibular surface to mimic natural enamel.

Ensure precise placement to achieve an optimal aesthetic result.

Step 4: Sculpt the vestibular layer

Use your sculpting tools to refine the contours of the vestibular layer.

Pay attention to anatomical details for a seamless blend with surrounding dentition.

Step 5: Finish the restoration

Utilise the Enhance Flex Finishing Instrument to smooth and refine the restoration.

The recommended rotational speed for Enhance Flex is 3,000 – 8,000 RPMs. Maximum: 20,000 RPMs

Step 6: Achieve high gloss polishing

Switch to the Enhance Flex Polishing Instrument to add a high-gloss finish.

This step delivers a polished, lifelike appearance for the restored tooth.

Step 7: Final result

Verify the aesthetics and functionality of the restoration.

The final result should exhibit seamless integration, natural translucency, and high shine.
