Background

Following Microsoft’s announcement1) that support for Windows 10 will end on 14 October 2025, we recommend upgrading your systems to Windows 11 to ensure continued security and compatibility.

Dentsply Sirona is committed to supporting you in running your practice smoothly and securely. If you are currently using any Dentsply Sirona products operating on Windows 10, please review the following options to understand the steps that should be taken.

DI & CAD/CAM Products

Dentsply Sirona has developed a Windows 11 Security Package to upgrade a selection of its DI & CAD/CAM products. The package offers you the promised performance of your Dentsply Sirona devices, in addition to the high security standards of Windows 11 promised by Microsoft1).

 

The following products can be upgraded with the Windows 11 Security Package:

  • Primescan AC (Versions 1.7.1 - 1.7.6)
  • Omnicam AC 2.0 (Versions 1.1.1 - 1.1.6)
  • InLab PC (Versions 6.0.1 - 6.0.4)
  • Omnicam AC 1.0 (PC version starting V5.2.1) 
  • CEREC Workstation & Omnicam AF/AI (PC version starting V5.4.1

The Windows 11 Security Package includes

  • A USB-flash drive containing a customised Windows 11 disk image developed and validated for the Dentsply Sirona products eligible for the upgrade
  • A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) sticker2) for Windows 11 providing the legal licence to use Windows 11

We recommend upgrading to Windows 11 using only the Dentsply Sirona Security Package. This helps to ensure a reliable upgrade process and to prevent errors that may occur with other methods. Please note that upgrading Dentsply Sirona products to Windows 11 is not possible through the upgrade options offered directly by Microsoft.

 

RCU computers: Reconstruction Control Unit – X-ray image PC

RCUs ordered before September 2024 have a Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) Windows 10 Version, which receives extended support from Microsoft and therefore do not have to be upgraded to Windows 11. This extended support does not include feature updates but does provide ongoing security updates.

Please note that the LTSC version cannot be directly upgraded to Windows 11. Customers wishing to upgrade should purchase a Windows 11 licence. We recommend continuing with Windows 10 on the RCU until its extended support period ends.
