Welcome to DS Academy's Dental Implant Curriculum

An Interactive Collection of Dental Implant Courses

This curriculum is designed to help build and expand clinicians' digital implant skills according to levels of experience and personal learning preferences. We invite those newer to implant dentistry to start from the beginning, and those with more experience to jump in further down the learning pathway.

Our dental implant curriculum aims to provide clinicians with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed to stay up to date and achieve clinical, technical, and practice excellence. Through this self-paced online curriculum, clinicians will be able to learn more about implant dentistry - from foundational through mastery levels.

The majority of the curriculum is delivered via an interactive, procedure-based series of dental implant courses that use individual cases to teach current implant treatment. This approach is in contrast to conventional dental education that focuses more on didactic topics and theory.

The purpose of using this educational approach is to highlight the patients and procedures found in everyday clinical practice, where the most important concepts are observed and discussed in multiple clinical scenarios.

We are proud to support clinicians in providing the best possible care for their patients and improving oral health today.

Levels within our Implant Curriculum

Introduction to Implant Dentistry

This introductory-level course will provide a foundational understanding of digital implant workflows, including intraoral scanning, clinical photography, and virtual case planning. It will also review the fundamentals of implant design, osseointegration, and treatment planning.

Posterior Single-Tooth Dental Implant Procedures

This procedure-based module will illustrate the basic surgical and prosthetic concepts of implant therapy through the presentation of three single-posterior implant cases.

Anterior Single-Tooth Dental Implant Procedures

This procedure-based module will help the clinician grow into more advanced surgical and prosthetic concepts with the treatment of three single-anterior implant cases.

Multi-Unit Fixed Partial Dentures

This procedure-based module is focused on expanding the scope of implant options from single-implant scenarios to anterior and posterior multi-unit cases.

Full-Arch Implant Overdentures

Transitioning to the edentulous patient, this procedure-based module will provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills necessary for providing full-arch removable implant restorations.

Full-Arch Fixed Prostheses

This procedure-based module will empower clinicians with the full scope of implant possibilities by focusing on the nuance and details necessary to successully treat all-on-x cases.

Advanced Bone Grafting

This mastery-level course will challenge clinicians with a comprehensive discussion of bone grafting materials and grafting techniques, which includes socket preservation, horizontal ridge augmentation, and internal and external sinus augmentation. Specific attention will be given to immediate placement/loading and the esthetic zone.

Complications Management

This mastery-level course discusses both the prevention and management of surgical and restorative complications. Within the surgical realm, the presentation focuses on early implant failure and later peri-implant disease. Prosthetic concepts will involve preventative prosthesis design, screw/abutment removal, and sequencing that acknowledges the importance of patient experience.
