Three Sensor Sizes

Xios AE sensors are available in three different sizes:

Size 2: Adult bitewings and single tooth images

Dynamic Sharpening Slider and Image Enhancements

Clinical Confidence

Outstanding image quality is only the start for the Xios sensors. The dynamic sharpening slider allows users to change the X-ray's image impression in Sidexis 4 and adapt it to their diagnostic needs. Four different examination modes are available for this: general dentistry, endodontics, periodontology, and restorative. You can individually configure scan parameters, such as degree of sharpness, brightness, and contrast in the software to fit your preferences.

When a mode is selected, the relevant parameters are applied to the X-ray image. This helps to save valuable time when diagnosing and provides additional support to aid confidence in the treatment analysis.

Paralleling Technique

Exceptional Experience

The paralleling technique is now standard for intraoral X-ray diagnostics. Its diagnostic advantages are clinically proven. The paralleling technique requires holders that align the sensor at a right angle to the central beam and thus parallel to the tooth axis.

FAQ

Can the new Xios AE USB interface also be used with Xios XG Supreme sensors?

From a technical point of view, Xios XG Supreme sensors are compatible with the new Xios AE USB interface. However, you will first need to exchange the Xios XG Supreme cable with the new grey Xios AE cable for the two hardware components to connect.

The technical data of Xios AE and Xios XG Surpeme is the same, so what is the difference?

The technical data is the same because Xios AE is built on Xios XG Supreme's proven platform. Xios AE also has a pixel size of 15mm and, hence, the resolution is identical. However, the diagnostic image quality is improved due to newly implemented hardware components, such as updated read-out electronics and software algorithms that are not reflected in this overview. In addition to the improved image quality, the new sensor and USB 3 interface allow for an enhanced low-dose optimized dynamic range and accelerated data processing.

What is the advantage of a digital sensor compared to a flexible phosphor plate?

Bending imaging plates can distort images and jeopardize the reproducibility of the image quality - plate manufacturers specifically state that plates should not be bent. Intraoral sensors are not as susceptible to scratches or distortion of the image, offer quick X-ray capture and are overall much more durable, offering the ultimate intraoral imaging experience.

What are the system requirements?

The requirements follow those set for the Sidexis 4 imaging software. For more details, please see Sidexis 4 System Requirements.

Why is DIY cable exchange important?

The Xios intraoral sensor cable technology is backed by years of leading experience and offers outstanding durability. The ability to exchange the cable ensures no loss in productivity if unexpected damage occurs. For example, if a chair rolls over the cable or someone mistakenly shuts it in a drawer with force, there is the potential that the cable could get damaged. For these cases, it is good to be prepared, and the exchangeable cable will ensure that you are fully supported and can continue working with minimal delay.

I have a large treatment room - will the cables reach?

The USB interface comes equipped with a 2 m USB cable, and additional optional sensor cables go up to 2.7 m to suit every operatory configuration and allow for optimum movement and flexibility.

Where can I buy the sensor holder systems?

Dentsply Sirona's intraoral holder systems allow for a hygienic, comfortable and accurate imaging experience and can be purchased through your local dealer.
