In use around the world: solutions from Dentsply Sirona for comprehensive infection prevention in dentistry

Instruments

The importance of effective infection prevention in dentistry is growing all over the world. As the world's largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies, Dentsply Sirona has solutions for the entire hygiene process chain in dental practices and clinics that are customized to meet the different needs of the each region. Among other places, Dentsply Sirona has presented its comprehensive range of coordinated products for manual and automatic reprocessing at the World Sterilization Congress in Mexico City.

Infection prevention at dental practices and clinics is gaining importance around the world, as shown by the 19th World Sterilization Congress in 2018, held for the first time in Latin America. With its coordinated products for manual and mechanical reprocessing, Dentsply Sirona is committed to preventing infection in dentistry in very different regions of the world – from Mexico to Mongolia. The two Dentsply Sirona business units Instruments and Preventive have well-designed solutions for every step of the hygiene process chain in dental practices and clinics.

Manual and mechanical processes go hand in hand

The Dentsply Sirona solutions make it possible to conduct complex hygiene measures easily, safely, and reproducibly at every stage of the process. The products for manual and mechanical reprocessing work hand in hand. For example, the Com-Fit Plush Mask protects the mouth and nose from liquid splashes, among other things, during treatment. In addition to instrument baths and ultrasonic baths, products for manual reprocessing include the corresponding cleaning agents and disinfectants. With the Dentsply Sirona mechanical reprocessing solutions such as the DAC UNIVERSAL combined autoclave, dental practices and clinics can automatically clean, lubricate, and sterilize straight and contra-angle handpieces, at the press of a button. The instruments are thus available again for the next use after just a short time, reprocessed with validated, fully automatic processes. The DAC UNIVERSAL protects material, as it does not require chemical cleaning agents or disinfectants.

Successful 19th World Sterilization Congress in Mexico

The experts from the Instruments and Preventive business units at Dentsply Sirona presented this comprehensive hygiene portfolio at the 19th World Sterilization Congress from October 31 to November 3, 2018 in Mexico City ‒ as the only dental technology company among the exhibitors. Around 1,500 people from 50 countries attending the congress experienced an extensive program with scientific presentations and workshops on various topics concerning the reprocessing of medical devices. "We were very pleased at the great interest among visitors to the congress from all over the world. They were particularly impressed with the comprehensive range of solutions for manual and automatic reprocessing methods that we presented at the joint booth for our Dentsply Sirona Instruments and Dentsply Sirona Preventive business units – from masks to the DAC UNIVERSAL with its different lid versions. Not just dentists but also hygiene experts from large hospitals and representatives of health authorities and universities were informed of the latest technical developments for modern infection prevention in dentistry," says Kathrin Sichler, Marketing Manager. "After Mexico, we are already looking forward to the 20th World Sterilization Congress, to be held in 2019 in the Hague, in the Netherlands."

Important global commitment to infection prevention

Dentsply Sirona works internationally to reduce the risk of infection at dental practices and clinics. In September 2018, the Dentsply Sirona hygiene experts took part in a symposium of the Mongolian Emergency Service and Hospital Hygiene Project (MeshHp) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to inform medical professionals on the proper reprocessing of instruments. In 2019, Dentsply Sirona will continue to support infection prevention in dentistry around the world, so that patients and treatment teams everywhere can benefit equally from safe and thus successful dental care.

Due to the different approval and registration times, not all products are immediately available in all countries.
