The long-term success of dental implants hinges on a sufficient volume of healthy bone. Clinical circumstances may occur that pose difficulties for the patients’ suitability as a candidate for implants. Several factors contribute to this such as the presence of periodontal disease, large post-extraction bony defects, and resorption of an edentulous ridge1.
Clinicians and patients can benefit from allograft and xenograft bone graft materials for guided bone regeneration (GBR) and tissue bone regeneration (GTR) included in the Symbios portfolio, due to their high sterility and familiar handling. Each product is designed to provide clinicians with the results they desire.
In the meticulous world of bone and tissue regeneration, precision isn't just a goal, it's a way of life. This is where the Symbios Allograft shines, a testament to uncompromising scientific rigor. With a commitment to sterility, our allografts carry a legacy of excellence that ensures the highest standards.
When it comes to regenerative allograft products, sterility is the key. We, at Dentsply Sirona Regenerative Solutions, prioritize minimal manipulation to preserve tissue integrity. Adhering to the strictest standards, our allografts undergo donor screening, disinfection, cleaning, preservation, and inspection with true precision.
Created with both clinicians and patients in mind, our comprehensive portfolio is engineered to ensure a high level of sterility and ease of use, providing familiar handling to instill confidence and comfort at every stage.
To ensure high sterility and quality products, we collaborate with two trusted partners.
For our new granule products, we entrust RegenX, utilizing bone that is processed using the patented Excellion® process. For dermis and putty products, we continue our long-term partnership with MTF.

A dental bone graft is used to increase the volume and density of a patient's jaw in areas where bone loss has occurred. Allograft is a bone graft taken from a donor of the same species. There are 2 types of allografts – mineralized and demineralized allografts:
Mineralized allograft - Retains the natural mineral content of the patient’s bone. Mineralized allografts provide structural support and stability, making them suitable for applications where these properties are crucial, such as in load-bearing areas.
Demineralized allograft - Removed mineral content reveals more natural bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) and collagen for bone growth. The demineralization process boosts the graft's bone-stimulating properties.
Allograft is a bone graft taken from a donor of the same species (from human to human) while xenograft is a bone graft tissue from a donor of a different species (from animal to human).
All Symbios Allograft products declared acceptable for transplant. When it comes to regenerative allograft products, sterility is the key. We, at Dentsply Sirona Regenerative Solutions, prioritize minimal manipulation to preserve tissue integrity. Both of our trusted partners, RegenX and MTF, supply allografts that are accredited by AATB; Establishments registered with the FDA. In addition, our partners have carefully selected tissue banks that provide donated tissue products and have undergone rigorous donor screening criteria, with less than 2%* of donations accepted. The Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10-6 guarantees safety with a one-in-a-million chance of surviving microorganisms.
