Patient Comfort

Treatment comfort creates trust

Only when the patients feel at ease in the practice and are convinced they are receiving professional treatment with the latest technologies will they come back and recommend your practice to others. The wishes and needs of patients are a growing challenge in routine clinical practice. CEREC allows dentists to meet many requirements at once: High-quality restorations, modern treatments, and comfortable treatment. And the best of all is a successful final restoration in just one visit.

... I want treatment to be as pleasant as possible. With no impression tray and fewer injections. I’m willing to pay more for that.

Robert Heller, patient from Helmstedt, Germany

CEREC covers the whole process sequence

Treatments with CEREC therefore save time and are extremely comfortable for patients. CEREC combines the whole process in one system – from the digital impression and software-supported design to the production of the final restoration in the dental practice.

The advantages for your patients

Digital impressions

Many patients consider classic impressions with an impression tray and impression material to be unpleasant. The modern alternative is digital impressions with CEREC Primescan. This scanner takes a powder-free scan of the upper and lower jaw in usually 1 minute and creates 3D models in photo-realistic resolution that is immediately obvious.

One anesthetic

CEREC is an optimum solution, particularly for anxious patients. Since the final restoration is produced in a single visit, the patient only needs one anesthetic injection.

No temporary prosthesis

Problems with temporary prostheses that fall out and emergency appointments are eliminated with CEREC because the patient receives the final restoration in the first visit: With a CEREC grinding and milling unit, inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers and bridges are manufactured right in the dental chair.

Long-lasting dental prostheses

Dentists and patients alike want their restorations to last a long time, particularly since they often contribute to financing them. CEREC meets these requirements: Today, CEREC has been used to place more than 35 million restorations worldwide. Patients can now be fitted with full-contour zirconia in a single visit. This ceramic material has similar strength properties to gold but is tooth-colored.

More transparency, more trust

The transparent process of a chairside restoration is ideal for a consultation: Your patients can easily visualize the treatment recommendation and the treatment process on the monitor while the restoration is being designed with the CEREC software.

Once they have seen the 'live' reconstruction of their tooth, patients will be impressed by CEREC.

Frequently asked questions about the advantages of CEREC for patients

As a dentist you can offer your patients single-visit restorations. This means that you meet the wishes of your patients. This has a positive effect on the image of your practice.

The CEREC system makes a dental practice more valuable: Your patients have a positive experience, your efficiency increases, the latest technologies boost the image of the practice. Treatment with CEREC is enjoyable and offers full control over the whole process. Profits, especially profits that would normally go to the laboratory, remain completely in the practice.

A patient comes to your practice and you diagnose a large caries in a lateral tooth. You have several treatment options: a classic composite filling, an inlay that you have made in a lab, or a CEREC inlay. The CEREC inlay is a cost-effective, esthetically pleasing option with good clinical results. You can also take a digital impression of the teeth that is not uncomfortable for patients, you control the entire process, and retain the whole added value in your practice.

Around 85 percent of patients welcome single-visit treatment. They are frequently willing to consider changing dentists or traveling longer distances for this. Satisfied patients recommend you to others and are happy to come back.

Initially, it is important to decide together with the patient how to treat a diagnosis. If, for example, a tooth has to be fitted with a crown, it quickly becomes clear how CEREC is a good option here:

  • Tooth-colored restoration that patients are keen on
  • Single-visit dentistry: 1 anesthetic, no temporary restoration, final provision in a single visit
  • Digital impression: No uncomfortable impression material in the mouth
