The use of key components of our treatment centers allows a realistic simulation working environment. Students become familiar with details of subsequent treatment processes in the preclinical semesters and a smooth transition to the clinical semesters is facilitated.

When it comes to designing your individual Simulation Units, we leave nothing to chance. We accompany you step by step during the planning and design process from the initial idea to implementation. Our Simulation Units can be equipped with different kinds of dentist elements depending on the required functionalities as well as space conditions.

• Ergonomic design with flexibly positionable arm
• Fully fledged with up to 5+1 instruments including high speed and low speed handpieces, scaler and intra-oral camera
• With the choice of two different user interfaces:  key pad or touchscreen
  
• Integrated endo functionality

Our Simulation Units can be equipped with different kinds of assistant elements depending on the required functionalities as well as space conditions.

Choice of

• fully-fledged assistant element on separate support arm with up to 4 instrument trays (syringe, LED curing light, HVE, saliva ejector, intraoral camera) and user interface (key pad)
  
• Hangers for high volume ejector and/or saliva ejector 
  

Choice of two different foot controls:

• Pneumatic foot control: The disc gas pedal starts/stops the instruments
• Electric foot control:  With the electric foot control the speed and intensity of the instruments can additionally be controlled. The height of the patient simulator position can also be adjusted using the foot control.

Both versions are attached to the center of the junction box making it suitable for left and right-handed users.

The Simulation Units can be extended with further optional dental add-ons to carry out interdisciplinary courses teaching also prosthetic dentistry:

• Motor and handpiece for dental technology: Integrated into the Simulation Unit to carry out work in dental technology
• Dry grinding: The protective disk and dry suction system prevent unhealthy dust from being inhaled
• Wet grinding: A basin built into the benchtop and a wet suction system allow practitioners to work without a spray mist
• Bunsen burner/Induction heating unit: For waxing up exercises
  

Ergonomics is a key value for Dentsply Sirona in all our product designs. We want the students to learn the right working postures already in the simulation lab.

• Dentist and assistant elements can be positioned optimally for all treatment situations
• Continuously adjustable height and inclination of the patient simulator guarantees optimal user posture
• Switch in a matter of seconds between right- and left-hander treatment without tools
• Ergonomical working stools support the practitioner in each working position
  

The simulation unit can equipped with a holistic hygiene concept. You quickly, easily, and safely achieve the highest hygiene standards for the protection of instructors and students.

• Integrated disinfection system: permanent disinfection of all water pathways
• Automatic sanitizing function for regular intensive disinfection. Can also be used with self-contained water supply
• Integrated cleaning adapter – for automatic purging of instrument hoses (Purge and AutoPurge function) and sanitization of the water lines
• Chemical suction hose cleaning – cleaning agent container for chemical purging of the suction lines
• Monitoring and documentation of hygiene measures with the unit management software Vionex.

The Simulation Units can be set up in different layouts depending on the space conditions and the preferred teaching concepts. Possible layouts are:

• In Rows
• Standalone
• Double chair
• Clusters
• Combination workplace with a treatment center
• Clusters (star‐shape)

The intraoral scanner Omnicam can be directly attached to the simulation unit facilitating working with CEREC and prepCheck. Its flexible arm enables students from several adjacent workstations to use the scanner. This solution provides ergonomically ideal working conditions for the students, and also makes the investment highly efficient.

For exercises for e.g. surgery or periodontics it is necessary to practice on animals’ jaws. With our Simulation Units you can easily take off the patient phantom and attach a surgery tray. The screws of the surgery tray hold the jaw firmly in position and all excess liquids are collected in the steel tub.

Dentsply Sirona has chosen frasaco as our preferred partner; nevertheless are our Simulation Units flexible to integrate patient simulators from other manufacturers as well.

Dentsply Sirona has strong and successful partnerships with various manufacturers of medical furniture for simulation labs, treatment rooms and sterilizations areas. Together we completed many turn-key projects taking all functional as well as aesthetic factors into account.

The biggest challenges in a simulation lab are visibility, distractions and instructor accessibility to all devices. The award-winning alphadidact® digital system allows instructors at the touch of a button to share realtime, high-quality images from any device on any screen in the classroom. This enables the instructor to check up on student progress, share, collaborate and monitor. The user interface operating the system can be controlled via a keyboard or via an App running on a tablet.
