The Gutta-Smart obturation unit is very easy to use on any tooth of the mouth. The Pack unit is easy to hold and activate, even in hard-to-reach areas such as second and third molars. I primarily use the yellow tip (50/.05), and activate for a second or less at 230 degrees. In addition, I really enjoy the feedback the Flow unit provides when I perform backfilling. With the unit heated to 160 degrees, and the tip in contact with the down pack gutta-percha for at least 5 seconds, I’m able to minimize any chance of a void as warm gutta-percha flows at a flow rate of 60%.
